If I pledge to sign for an independent candidate, am I expected to regardless ?

Q: I am not comfortable agreeing to sign for a candidate before I know who it is.  I do like the idea of having an independent candidate but not sure if I should pledge right now.

A:

Our pledge is to consider signing to get a candidate on the ballot.  You are not violating your pledge should you not feel comfortable endorsing the final candidates.  We do hope that we will have multiple candidates at both the State and Federal seats.  In one federal district, 2 or 3 state house or senate seats may also overlap.  Many of these seats remain unchallenged and require fewer signatures to get an independent candidate on the ballot because it is a smaller constituency.
