Our Priorities
Draft Proposal of Our Priorities:
-
- Democracy is at the core of our principles. One Person - One Vote. We also realize that how legislation is crafted and what amendments are attached are not final until the vote.
- Our Candidates are vowing to:
- Submit a summary of past and pending votes to news outlets and publications with a phone & website poll to allow voters to approve or disapprove of representatives intended vote.
- Be accountable for all votes taken and to honor the will of not only supporters but also entire congressional district.
- Any topic of concern not addressed by the caucus priorities list will be based on the individual congressional district and their elected representative.
- We have the right to vote "No!"
-
- Have you heard of the American Anti-Corruption Act?
- You can read the bill and find out more here: www.anticorruptionact.org
- We are seeking to send a caucus of representatives that are not just "supportive" of this legislation but will make it a priority to get a vote in congress and continue until it is passed.
-
- Our Representatives support an amendment to end corporations as people and money as speech and will not only support but shepherd the process to keep it from being corrupted by other matters not related.
-
-
JOBS, JOBS, JOBS
- Our economy has still suffered a loss of hundreds of thousands of jobs since the 2007 Great Recession with overall reduction in employment.
- Until we reinvest in American invention and research we will continue to allow other countries to develop and control new industries.
- With tax increases virtually off the table, the only way to address our budget deficit and national debt is by increasing the number of taxpayers and that means jobs for payroll and income taxes.
- Establishing the Federal Minimum Wage at $10.10 with annual non-CPI COLA adjustments
- For a majority of Americans, the only raise they will see, even after years of tenure with a company is by Federal Minimum Wage Adjustment.
- The CPI must be prohibited from application due to its intent to deprive American Workers of a living wage and place harm on the health and well-being of American Citizens costing the national safety net more over time.
- We have paid over $2 Trillion dollars in excess into our Social Security Benefits. They are saying we have to cut these programs to save them?
- Raising or removing the tax cap
- End the revolving credit door and create a plan to restore the funds borrowed.
- Medicare/ACA Amendments
- Allow employees to double their medicare tax rate for "Medicare Now", with an additional 1% for unemployed dependent.
- Using Additional funds from healthy, employed new enrollees, set a date for all Social Security Retirees to receive 100% no copay/dues Medicare, medicine and services - FREE, they already paid for it, just like we are now.
-
- Pass a law that requires public oversight and judicial review of any future redistricting plans prior to their implementation.
- Restore the Voting rights act with all states and localities requiring judicial review prior to changing voting laws.
- Expanding early voting and Election day accessibility.
