Our Mission Statement

Our mission is to engage with citizens by assisting them with easy access to public information to exercise their constitutional right of self-governance through a representative government by voting for the purpose of taking the U.S. House of Representatives back from the lobbyists and return it to WE, THE PEOPLE.  

Our Beliefs

We believe civic action is speech, art is speech, voting is speech and money is not speech.  

Money is a tool of speech.  Money can buy a megaphone.  Money can buy airtime.  Money can pay for postage and print materials.   Money not only is not required for any of these items.  Cupping your hands is a free megaphone, calling into a talk show is free airtime and you can deliver items in person and many of us have learned how to get every piece of open space off of a piece of notepaper.   When money is confused with speech, it tilts our democracy and actually limits the rights of every citizen to be heard by their government and creates a system that actually limits free speech and the exercise of our constitutional rights through intimidation and diminished capacity.

Corporations are not living persons.  

Corporations are entities constructed out of legal diction that have a sole purpose of profit, as that is the only thing that sustains them.  They are required that the individuals operating the corporation to do all that they can to increase profit for the corporation and it's shareholders.  

A human, however, may chose sacrifice for the greater good, may not participate in governing for 18 years, may be imprisoned or executed for taking another person's life or causing irreparable harm.  

A corporation and the individual's operating the controls have legal protections that allow them to operate without fear of prosecution and even if a corporation is found to be at fault in causing the death of a formally living person, they are not forced to close their doors as long as profit is still acquired.  

Corporations do not have the same responsibilities as persons and should not have the same rights.

Our Principles

United We Stand, Divided We Fall

We are tired of organizations and candidates hitting us up for money all of the time and doing so in ways that seek to divide our nation into deeper political polarization.  Our national parties and corporate media have turned elections into prize fights and campaigns into wars, with the end result of Americans fighting other Americans as if the very fate of our own existence is threatened when it is not because we have a constitution and laws that protects us from each other but only if we chose to use it.

All Politics are Local

We are dedicated to helping to educate our neighbors on issues that impact all of us.  Today, most of us either do or don't have political leanings towards one party or the other.  There are also a lot of others out there that don't see a difference and further don't see that it matters.  If 1/3 of the people voting brought that 1 friend to early vote that had sworn off voting, we can change the entire electorate.  We are hoping to convince them by drafting independent candidates that will honor the commitment of a public servant.

Leaders by Default, Not By Choice

Our leaders are volunteers that step up because there is a need.  We are an independent democratic caucus of Americans that have been gerrymandered out of our representation.  We are not seeking fame or power but answering the call of service because we still believe there is hope for our future.  M. Smith has reported for duty.

On Listening: I will, if you will

Our key principle is that every American has the right to a voice in our government and we have allowed partisan politics to replace cause and effect debate.  So we look to gather here in this place and listen to each other and allow a vote of the majority to lead us.  We are not here to nor will we change minds but rather listening for opportunities to find those things that unite us. 

We are not here to fight words but for action and representation.

We cannot let partisan framing define our conversation.  We are not here to debate the correct word to obfuscate intention or to inflame hyperbolic rhetoric for the sole purpose of keeping us screaming at each other instead of examining the implications of their votes and leaving us little in the representation that is our right.

Apply Pressure to the National Parties

We understand the major political parties hold and will continue to hold power in Washington DC and in our state capitols.  We will use our caucus to apply pressure to them in the same manner the lobbyists do by scoring their votes and publicly supporting or shaming them.

Keep Politics, Politics

No individual group, party or organization has a copyright on patriotism or our constitution.   There is a huge gulf of difference between knowing from learning and believing that you know from common sense.  We are not going to allow ourselves to be distracted by personal shortcomings.  We are all Americans and each deserve to be treated with respect and dignity by our government and fellow citizens.   

Serving and defending the constitutional rights of all Americans.

We celebrate the greatest document crafted by mankind, Our Constitution of the United States of America, because it tried to teach us what we still have not learned.  We need to be able to grow and change, we can make problems and fix them too.   The founding fathers provide avenues for the congress to act to amend but also gave the people the power through their states.   Now is the time that we are being called to serve our country, preserve our representative democracy and end corruption which has become an oppressive influence in today's U.S. House of Representatives.
