Our Plan

1. Target Gerrymandered Districts through 2022 to end Partisan Gerrymandering

   1. The National Parties cannot defend the entire House of Representatives.  
   2. In 2016, we will have public engagement on our side as more people get involved during the Presidential elections.  It also gives us the opportunity to engage the non-voter which is our target audience.
   3. In most likelihood, no highly-partisan voters will take us seriously, let alone the national platforms.  Both sides have evolved to the same "they are worse" strategy.  They will not take us seriously because we are too grassroots.
   4. This campaign is virtually a whisper campaign where there are public events to bring awareness, the heart of of this campaign is neighbor to neighbor.  This most likely will catch them off-guard.
   5. We will not carry the baggage of the national parties and our answer to anything that is not one of the 4 primary issues is the 1st one, it depends on the legislation at the time and the voice of the constituents.  
   6. We are using their "strengths" against them.  The money may control corporate media but have virtually no ground game SPECIFICALLY in gerrymandered districts.  The Parties decided to "share the wealth" much like our other corporate monopolies behave.  The bosses get together and agree, "I'll stay out of yours if you stay out of mine." That's where our advantage comes in - one party has already ceded the fight.
   7. The National Parties have no interest in passing our platform so we cannot trust they will act.  Until we can send a delegation with enough power to pass our platform we must keep fighting.
   8. Finally - this is only the U.S. House of Representative and the State Legislatures (House & Senate).  The U.S. Senate, Presidential and local elections are not part of this caucus's mission.  We are not asking people to leave their party but take back "our house" for the people.

2. Recruit Support and Design Teams

   1. This is designed to be a bottom-up organization.  We cannot afford to run a traditional campaign.  We need volunteers to help manage the website, keep everyone engaged and create hand-outs and other materials to breach into the real world.
   2. Before we can send volunteers out to talk to their neighbors, we need to have something beyond this website to refer our neighbors.  Some do not have internet access at home or any desire to learn how to do it on their phone.

3. Seek Ballot Signature Pledges & Volunteers

   1. In order to get an independent candidate on the ballot it takes more signatures without a party backing the candidate.  This is another way the parties maintain control and have little concern of opinions of the people.
   2. We need to identify as many people as possible to just agree to consider signing when a candidate has been nominated.  This will allow us to quickly gather the signatures while continuing to recruit volunteers.
   3. We also need people who are willing to work to canvas their neighborhoods, host house parties and organize public events.

4. Organize Public Messaging & Events to recruit potential Candidates

   1. We need event organizers that can draw in potential voters and educate them on gerrymandering and our caucus.
   2. We win if we get the vote - and that only can happen with voters that have checked-out of their democracy.

5. Recruit Candidates

   1. We need a messenger of the people.  We need someone to stand up and take our message to the Capitol.
   2. Candidates need to be legally eligible to run for congress and willing to withstand public scrutiny.

6. Public Debate Events and Nominations

   1. Public Events will be organized with the intention of hosting 2 or more candidates that will vie to champion the platform at the ballot box.  
   2. The event will be available online for members to view and vote along with the results of a straw poll the night of the event.
   3. Candidates will be required to sign a commitment pledge as well as affirm the Governing Compact prior to each debate.
   4. Final Primary results will be based on the vote of members.

7. Gather Signatures

   1. Request Signature Pledges, Volunteers & Organizers to submit their valid, original signature sheets to their respective organizer
   2. Coordinators should assist candidate in collating and validating signature counts.
   3. If enough signatures cannot be gained to get entry onto the ballots required, the nominees should continue as a write in campaign.

8. The First Campaign

   1. Our candidates will have the backing of our support teams for design and production needs.
   2. Our volunteers will continue to canvas neighborhoods in a goal to reach every voting household helping to get the name of our candidate into their field of vision.
   3. State & Federal Candidates should continue to plan to make public events together.  They share the same voters at the state and federal level in most cases.
   4. Campaign will switch from volunteer recruitment to donation and get out the vote efforts.

9. Election Day

   1. Everyone joins the GOTV team and (if they haven't already early voted) vote!
   2. Talk to everyone in your household or plan on riding together!
   3. You could also call your neighbor and ask if they need a ride?
   4. Congratulate yourself for a job well done!

10. The Day After

    1. Get back to Work on 2018 Mid-Terms, 2nd verse same as the first.
    2. Well maybe not the day after but whether our candidates go forward or we lick our wounds and journey on, we cannot give up all that we built in 2 years.
    3. For those candidates that will be joining the House will be blazing a new path.
       1. Those that win will govern as they have affirmed in the governing compact with the voters.
       2. We will test new grounds and test our unity as the already expected hyper-partisan enters a new congress with a new president and who knows Senate.  Will our voters honor our house compact?
    4. Who's Caucus?
       1. What if only 1 or 2 members enter the congress or one party maintains a majority?
          1. The final call falls with the Representative, however, I would expect it to be the opposite of the incumbent that was unseated unless a majority of the constituents request otherwise.
          2. We will continue to test new grounds for not only our caucus but also for our government.  It just takes one.
       2. What if neither party can gain the majority?
          1. If neither party can reach 218, we will present our platform and agenda to the leaderships of the parties and the caucus that agrees to pass our legislation gets our caucus votes.
       3. What if, what if 218 of the over 350 Gerrymanders fall?
          1. It's a new day in America but even then the fight won't be over.
          2. You've heard the talking points about how many bills the House passed but yet, when it comes to laws they have been the worst "do-nothing" congress in history and they keep working harder at doing less.
             1. While our Representatives will be at work, we will be back home fighting to move the needle in the Senate and eventually to the President.
