If you are not a volunteer member of the Independent House Caucus, you are a guest in Our House.
This section of the website, is for you have a dialogue across the political spectrum. As independents, we hold no allegiances to a party and our volunteers speak for themselves. We are a caucus united on our mission, priorities and agenda, everything else is up to the majority of voters, so we each are responsible for our own democracy.
We ask that all of our guests abide by Our House Our Rules and agree to the Party Guest Code of Conduct to participate in these forums. We are here to get away from the partisan noise so we can try and understand what options are on the table and what is the best way for our states and people nation to move forward.
If you are still a party loyalist or not, we invite you to comment within the party pages. We'll have blogs started where our caucus members can ask questions about how your party aligns with our priorities and how your party's actions impact or doesn't impact their lives. If you agree to our mission, priorities and agenda, volunteer to be a Guest Ambassador so you can tell us why you support your party or group and why you think others should too. (Note: No fundraising, outside surveys or other recruitment material is permitted without prior approval and will be removed without notice.) This is a place for you to make your case to your fellow citizens based on individual issues or laws, we are here based on the powers given to the people under Article I on the U.S. Constitution for a representative government.
We also invite you to take part in our People's Representative Elective Scoring System (PRESS)(TBD), that allows you to score like the lobbyists do and when congresses closes prior to election day, we'll produce your Voter Scorecard to show on the votes you scored, how many times you and your representatives were in agreement.
We have three groups of Our House Party Guests - Partisans, Non-Partisans & Future Voters.
Our Partisan Neighbors: This will give you a list of each of the Major parties and some basic Leadership info and a link to their national website. If your party represents you, this is a place where you can defend, excuse or champion your beliefs in your party platform.
Our Non-Partisan Friends: These are the current Non-Profit Organizations that are not affiliated with the Our House Caucus but do share the same priorities. If you are part of these groups, this is a place where you can let people know what is happening in your area of our 5 Priorities.
